The HON Company Adds Seating Production to Georgia Factory

New Seating Operation Will Add 77 Jobs in Cedartown

MUSCATINE, Iowa, March 27, 2007 – The HON Company will increase production capacity throughout the next year at its Cedartown, Ga., manufacturing facility. With the addition of a new Seating factory, the facility projects it will manufacture more than 1.3 million products in 2007. The new factory will add 77 jobs to The HON Company's Cedartown operation, which currently employs more than 775 and is the largest industrial employer in Polk County.

The company is adding a new Seating factory to its existing Metal Casegoods and Laminate Casegoods factories. The new, 40,000 square foot factory will produce seven different seating series, rolling out five in 2007 and two more in 2008.

The HON Company's Cedartown facility, the first outside of Iowa, opened for production in 1969. Currently the facility produces more than 600 models within 537,670 square feet of space. Product is delivered to customers in wholesale, retail and dealer channels.

Job specific training will take place in May with assistance provided by Coosa Valley Technical College and Georgia QuickStart. The new Seating factory will be operational in June.
